PRECAUTIONS TO FOLLOW TO FIGHT OFF THE CORONAVIRUS

"Ever since the novel Coronavirus broke out in China,it has been spreading throughout the world. The first case of the COVID-19 was reported in November 2019,as the government reports cite. The Coronavirus at its peak now has affected 164 countries and thus had to be declared as a pandemic disease by the WHO on March 11,2020."
 LET US KNOW FIRST...

  •  TYPE OF DISEASE: RESPIRATORY DISEASE
  • CAUSED BY:-  SARS CoV2
  •  ORGANS AFFECTED:- IT FIRST INFECTS THE CELLS LINING YOUR THROAT AND THEN THE LUNGS, THUS TURNING THEM INTO 'CORONAVIRUS FACTORIES', WHICH GO ON TO INFECT OTHER CELLS TOO.
  • INCUBATION PERIOD:- IT IS THE TIME BETWEEN THE ENTRY OF THE VIRUS AND THE APPEARANCE OF OF THE FIRST SYMPTOMS. IT IS USUALLY 14 DAYS . [THE SYMPTOMS BEING BUT AT SUCH AN EARLY STAGE, YOU WILL NOT BE SICK AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE DO NOT DEVELOP ANY SYMPTOMS. HENCE, IT IS DURING THIS PERIOD THAT THE PERSON, OBLIVIOUS TO THE DISEASE INSIDE HIM MIGHT SPREAD IT TO A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. THIS MAKES SELF QUARANTINING VERY IMPORTANT FOR ALL OF US.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE PRECAUTIONS THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN TO STAY SAFE FROM THE RAPIDLY SPREADING CORONA VIRUS [COVID-19]:-

~THE INFORMATION HAS BEEN GATHERED FROM TRUSTABLE AND RELIABLE SOURCES~
All of these are extremely basic and what we have already learnt as kids. So here are all the protocols you have to follow to be safe and healthy:-

1.WASH YOUR HANDS with either a soap or an alcohol  based one for atleast 20 SECONDS. Rub between your fingers, both sides of your palm and your nails.Wash it once within a time span of 45 minutes if you are travelling or out. If you are at home you may wash your hands within an hour. Otherwise wash your hands after coming from outside, before eating and after having been to the wash room. Also, it very important that we wash or sanitise our hands after touching the public property surfaces such as the lift, railing of the staircase, handles of the doors, trains, bus, metro, etc.

2.DO NOT TOUCH YOUR NOSE, MOUTH AND EYES WITH UNCLEAN HANDS, especially with hands that havent been washed or sanitised. Sometimes when its itching, try to be patient , wash your hands, sanitise them and then proceed. [But it is very difficult to follow.Trust me!]ALSOavoid handshakes and physical contact with people at all costs.

3.DOORKNOBS,DESKTOPS,MOBILES,EARPHONES, HOUSE KEYS,BAGS,PURSES, PLASTIC CONTAINERS,AND OTHER GADGETS which travel out with you, should be sanitised as soon as you reach home. This reduces the risk of spread of the virus as it has the tendency to remain alive for 5 days on smooth surfaces, according to the reports. ALSO, currency notes could be the transmitter of the virus.
4.CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES WHEN YOU COME HOME FROM OUTSIDE. This is another way to maintain hygiene.

      5. CARRY A HAND SANITISER with you in case soap and water are not available. POINT TO BE NOTED:- The concentration of alcohol in the sanitiser should be equal to or more than 60%.

        6. STAY AT LEAST 1 METRE AWAY from a person who is sneezing or coughing. But if it is not possible due to lack of space, turn around and face away from the person and cover your face with your handkerchief or better one should wear a mask while travelling out.

        7. ALWAYS COVER YOUR MOUTH WITH A FLEXED ELBOW [see pic below] or use tissue while coughing or sneezing and dispose off that tissue immediately.

8.STRICTLY REFRAIN FROM SPITTING IN PUBLIC as the sputum may contain the virus which can be transmitted to the others unknowingly. ALSO it only litters our land, thus harming us in turn.

9.BOOST YOUR IMMUNITY by regular physical activity[#WORKOUTATHOME] such as deep breathing(pranayama), take a balanced diet, ensure daily intake a of vitamin C[through fruits, vegetables,or supplements],vitamin D through the direct source-Sun and maintain an intake of immunity boosters.

10.THE PACKAGED GOODS AND FOODS SHOULD BE CLEANED  BEFORE BEING USED, because the coronavirus has the tendency to live upto quiet some time on plastic itself, thus increasing the chance of its spread as it might be the case that the person packing the goods may be affected and it could be spread if the person would have sneezed on it or near to it.
"IF you experience cough , fever or face breathing trouble, diarrhoea, gastro intestinal symptoms, immediately approach the doctors or contact the respective governmental helplines for assistance. Small children , pregnant ladies, diabetic , asthma ,cancer patients as well as other sick people, and aged people are most prone to the COVID-19. Otherwise avoid close contact with people and self quarantine yourself as much as possible. It is something that needs to be practised worldwide to reduce the coronavirus from spreading. It is not an entirely fatal disease yet there is no vaccination for it, so far. But, the doctors around the globe have cured so many people which tells us that we need not panic or stress if one is quarantined. Maintain healthy and hygienic habits and we all are sure to fight off this disease together. Stay safe."
